Exclamation Winona Forest Trail Condition Update

Another devastating event in the forest in progress. Trees/branches are down everywhere... on all the trails!

There will be a tremendous amount of work to be done till this is over!
We can only hope to have main trails cleaned up by Sunday. Secondary trails may be trouble till end of next week.

Hessle Road has been closed by DEC from Bargy to Wart for at least 2 weeks & probably longer for bridge reconstruction.

Snow......about 5in of snow as of 5pm. today. Much more on the way!

If you are on the trails please exercise extreme caution (best to stay home actually) as conditionsare not safe. Fresh snow and drifting will make downed trees & debris not visible.

Some trails may be closed. When those decisions are made we will post here or on our website www.winonaforest.com/trails.html

Anyone who can help with trail work this weekend or next week please Email trails@winonaforest.com

    Thanks
    WFRA Trail Committee

    Default Winona Forest Update

Wart Rd & Hawley are pretty much cleaned up & in good shape. Bargey from CCC Camp to North Church has been plowed by DEC but still has snow coverage. Hessel remains closed from Bargey to Wart. Secondary trails will be assessed tomorrow and will probably take till mid week to clear them all. Tomorrow we plan to begin grooming the trails that are cleared. It is recommended that everyone use extreme caution no matter where you ride. Helping your club with trail work would be a good way to get these trails in shape quicker!!!

    Default Winona Update

Since DEC is plowing Bargy from CCC to N. Church we groomed & cleared *****cat, Bronze, Marsh, Kate Hall, Gold Spike to Wart for a way around. Today we groomed Dog Leg, Dog Leg ext and Tail then blew a track.

Northeast end of the forest got the least snow...3-5 inches.
Southwest end got up to a foot. Most of the lake effect blew right on over us.

    It is now raining!

    Ride Safely,
    WFRA Trail Committee
