    Default Sunday 1/7 Verona/Rome/Taberg

Quick 85 today. Left from Rest Stop on 46 near 31. Down to pick up buddy near casino/Nicky Doodles. Never rode there before got lost like 3 times on goat paths, no problem as his sled wouldn't start (ended up taking his wifes). Got there picked him up and headed back to canal, got lost again once. No one is riding and signs are non existent.
Over to Rome, past Runnings over to Back 9. Excellent Wings!
Up and Over to Taberg and looped back to Erie Canal Village.
Drove past truck and trailer and hit Verona Beach as I wanted to check out lake. No problem over to Nice N Easy in Sylvan.
Back to truck and buddy went back home.

ALL TRAILS WERE PERFECT- Excellent job clubs as there is marginal snow. Tri-Valleys goat paths weren't groomed but were actually fun. They don't have much to work really.

Having to ride hill for last 2 years basically it was great to ride local.. Great Ride.

ONE RANT-I am not big on hand signals and while passing a skidoo the guy was showing me a finger for one, I didn't signal as trail was tight and I like control of my sled, well he must have been pissed and proceeded to take BOTH hands off and give me a WTF with his hands cause I didn't signal. You my friend should have been swallowed and please don't breed.

    Default Ohhhh boy

Here comes the annual hand signal debate...
Despite what you read on this site, we are in the Golden Age of Snowmobiling.
Our trails are in good to excellent condition 90% + of the time.
Our clubs are, for the most part, well-run by dedicated volunteers and leadership.
Grooming is pretty consistent across the State.
Your sled is likely the most comfortable, reliable and fuel efficient snowmobile you've ever owned.

I would love to have someone defend the WTF hand signal... But I'm sure they are out there.

So, is Taberg up and running? Last time I was on their system (two weeks ago) nothing had been signed or groomed (the north side anyhow); are they now in full function and operation?

    Trail report update

Trails are shaping up nice groomers are on regular schedules
All trails will be groomed for the weekend Still could use a little more snow to fill in frozen holes
    So ride with caution!!
Remember New York State snowmobile trail speed limit is 55 mph
And as always respect the landowners
Use of their land for our trails is a privilege not a right!! Be safe and enjoy your ride!! ttb"

Pretty tough to do any grooming when both groomers were down. Heard about someone else in "authority" complaining about it too but didn't seem to want to find out why.
