"Persistent Violator"
It was 45 degrees overnight Thursday and high in the 50's yesterday and it rained for 24 hours. 3.25" reported in Glenfield. Loss of trail base is the least of our problems. There are many roads closed in Lewis County I have never known to be closed. Streams backed up and overflowed. Water and chunks of ice on roadways. Route 12 was flooded and closed north of Lowville yesterday. Fields have sheets of water flowing across them. Seasonal roads might be OK, but low areas are likely flooded, and there is no trail I would consider safe unless it is really high and dry. It has been below freezing and snowing since Friday night. But it doesn't matter how much snow we get now - it will not solve the problems, it will only make them worse in the short run. Better we got none for a while so we could see the problems rather than have them hidden under snow.
