    Default So Sad - RIP

Webb- A 25-year-old Clarence, NY man was killed over the weekend after smashing his snowmobile into a tree in Herkimer County.

The Town of Webb Police Department, along with Old Forge Fire and Ambulance crews were called out at around 9:20pm Friday night to Trail 9 (Carter Road) in the Town of Webb.

CPR was being administered to the victim by other snowmobilers when emergency services arrived on the scene, according to a press release from the Town of Webb Police Department. EMS crews transported the victim with the departmentís rescue-boggan to an awaiting ambulance on the Rondaxe Road. The victim was officially pronounced as deceased a short while later by Herkimer County Coroner, Danforth Rivet.

Investigators released the victimís name, identified as Jeffery C. Clark. Police say investigations so far have determined Mr. Clark was operating his sled in an easterly direction at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a sweeping curve, causing him to strike a tree.

The Inlet Police Snowmobile Patrol, New York State Police and Schulerís Sled all assisted at the scene.
