Default Riding out of Salamanca New York

Looking at unloading north of Salamanca and just doing a day ride and heading home. Looking for anyone else wanting to do the same thing and also to see what the conditions are in that area? I hear pretty decent!

I rode the Allegheny national forest on Friday, we rode to the to Allegheny state park which is still closed due to all the trees down. Great riding and lots of snow and looks like more on the way. I can't help you with where to leave from. Also some clubs trails are open and some are closed. Im not sure how you know who's trails are who's.

I rode out of Salamanca earlier this season for the first ride and know where to unload as long at there is rideable snow at Salamanca. I am assuming there is but if not I’ll keep driving north until I find it I guess.

On another note how was the ANF and where did you unload at? I never rode the ANF and was wondering how it is to ride. May be a closer option to go too. I know it’s basically a big loop on the maps with some side trails and one that heads north? Correct?

With the park being closed and they said that are unsure if it will be open by the weekend there isn't a whole lot to ride if you got south it gets thin. It also looks like NY is supposed to get more snow then around Warren.

We were up at the casino last night to get a room for Thursday night. Defiantly rid-able snow and snowing hard when we left. Where did you leave from north of Salamanca?

When you get off the interstate at the casino turn towards Salamanca and go to first red light. Turn left which is Center St (Route 353) I believe. You will cross a bridge and there is a small lot on the right. It’s kinda hidden but has some old tractor trailers at north end. Trail runs right through the lot. We passed it the first time we went up.

I didn’t go up as I couldn’t find anyone to ride with and my wife was throwing a fit that I was gonna go alone.

have had three rounds of winter weather activity which have improved the trail systems in our County. However, there may still be trees or debris down in spots, use caution! Get out there now and enjoy them! Want to spend the night - please visit EnchantedMountains.com/stay.
Allegany State Park – Closed due to numerous trees down, widespread power outages, and numerous road closures. This will remain in effect indefinitely. Please call 716-354-9121 for questions or concerns. Work is currently being done on the XC Ski Trails.
Ashford Snowmobile Club – Some grooming is being done, reporting good conditions.
Elibomwons Snowmobile Club (Randolph) – Trails open but limited conditions. Watch out for trees and debris that may still be down.
Enchanted Mountains Border Riders Snowmobile Club(Limestone) – Remain closed.
Franklinville Snowmobile Club - Trail C2 is now open all the way to Little Valley. Use caution on the snowbounders end closer to Little Valley. We will try to groom that way if we can. Might not happen till Wednesday though. All of our trails are open. Trails from village north are groomed and in pretty good shape.
Portville Snowmobile Club – If you are going out on the trails please go slow and cautiously, watching for down trees and water in the trail.
SnowBounders Snowmobile Club (Little Valley) – Open, reporting good conditions. At this time, all trails are open with the exception of S33 off the Pat McGee trail to Case's junkyard which remains CLOSED. Logging operations will begin Tuesday near trail C1A behind Setterstix in Cattaraugus on Skyline Pool property. Please use caution while riding on this section. It has been signed.
Southern Tier Snow Drifters – 3-13-2018 - We are still open, HOWEVER...Trails are very thin in the Gowanda area and we do not encourage any riding between the Prison (RT 62) and the old Gowanda Starcraft Dealer (Maltbie Rd). Please refrain from riding in this area. We are expecting more snow, hopefully things will improve in the next 12-24 hours. Remember to Ride Safe Ride Right and join STSD.
Tri-County Drift Hoppers Snowmobile Club – Open, reporting good conditions. Ride on in to the Club Meeting this Thursday evening- 7:30 pm at the Arcade VFW Post.
WNY Snowmobile Club of Boston – Open, reporting limited conditions. Zoar Valley is bad at this time and there still may be trees or debris on the trails. Please be aware, Maple syrup lines were run across C4 between Route 240 and Mayo Rd. Use great caution!!

Oh yeah, we have SNOW!!! The groomers were out last night getting the trails nice and smooth for your riding pleasure and we thank them for that! At this time, all trails are open with the exception of S33 off the Pat McGee trail to Case's junkyard which remains CLOSED. The closure is well marked and please do not make any attempts to get on this section of trail. Again, happy riding everybody!! Feel free to post pics and comments so we can share stories. Have fun and be safe!
