2018 Snirt Run update

The event is less than 2 weeks away and regardless of what happens weather wise there will be snow on many of the trails. To avoid long backups on the trails ALL 2 WHEEL DRIVE MACHINES are asked to search out alternate routes consisting of plowed secondary roads. They will get you to the same locations with less hassle.

The BCSP's needs your help. We need everyone to stay on the trails/roads open for this event. Do not go off trails and if you see someone please stop and ask them to return to the trails. This event has grown over the years and is still a very good event but we need your help to self "police" the route as you ride. Do not become confrontational with anyone but do encourage others to stay on the routes open for this event.

Every year I remind everyone to be completely respectful of the LEO's covering this event. It's spring and I'm sure they has other things they would rather be doing, so please respect and obey their orders. Thank you

This year we have a new business on our list of stops that being Keith's Kafe located in Lorraine. She'll be open early for anyone traveling in from the southern part of Jefferson County or even northern Oswego Co. She has an excellent breakfast which will be served as usual. Later in the day she plans on cooking outdoors and will offer the usual burgers and hot dogs. In addition the Lorraine Fire Dept. will be having a chicken BBQ starting around noon.

INCIDENTLY THE LARGE FIELD OPPOSITE THE FLAT ROCK INN IS PRIVATE PROPERTY. IT WILL BE ROPED OFF AND POSTED. PLANS ARE TO HAVE THE MEDI VAC HELICOPTER LAND IN THE FIELD AND BE READY TO BE DISPATCHED IF NECESSARY. DO NOT CROSS THE CORDONED OFF AREA AS IT'S PRIVATE PROPERTY AND YOU WILL GET TICKTED AND/OR TOWED PARK ALONG THE CENTERVILLE ROAD OR EVEN DOWN THE FLAT ROCK ROAD. DO NOT PARK ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ROAD AS FIRE AND RESCUE NEED TO BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE AREA IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY.

PARKING: THERE IS MORE THAN ADEQUATE PARKING ALONG MANY OF THE ROADS LEADING INTO THE "HILL" DO NOT PARK ON BOTH SIDES OF ANY ROAD. YOU HAVE YOUR WHEELER WITH YOU SO PARK AND UNLOAD AND RIDE YOUR RIG INTO THE EVENT AREA.

Trucks , larger vehicles. please fold in your mirror on drivers side. Some trucks have large mirrors and a very easy to hit with a vehicle passing by. Common sense please

GG....are you plowing down the trails from Barnes to Montague???

No...the only road that will be plowed is Denning Rd so that wheelers can get into and out of BC. All other roads with snow on them may be avoided by using secondary PLOWED Town Roads opened for this event.

Everyone gets a map when registering. Any questions ask those at the sign up location for answers

Good point! Every year we have a slew of cars and trucks which run the event. In the past we have had converted school buses, limousines, deuce and a half army vehicles as well as other unique vehicles (no Amish buggies yet!) so please drive slow and be prepared to share the roads.

The press will once again be on a witch hunt looking to get any photos and reports of trespassing,property damage and accidents.
They feel the need to report the bad side (just remember back to past WDT articles).

Unfortunately in their hunt they will find some witches. Add 1 part testosterone, 2 parts alcohol and a 1000cc atv and you have all the ingredients for a few servings of trouble.

You could call it the “Tug Hill Spring Sob lunch”

For a winter blend, change 1k cc atv to 800 cc sled.

You could have a Tug Hill Cookbook

And for summer, replace that with over sized and speeding UTV’s.
