Cool freeway!

i guess that would be about the way to describe most of the trails right now....freeway! rode 280 miles over the weekend. it is quite frankly the best the trails have been down here for as long as i can remember. wind was a tad crazy out of the south yesterday am. rode from byron to simpson, down to wykoff, over to fountain, then down to preston for lunch at The Branding Iron...awesome burgers! went back up through fountain, then up to utica, still up to elba, then over to plainview, elgin, oronoco, then back to byron. 185 miles...95% was perfect! planning bigger loop for saturday. need to ride while we can! who knows how long it will last. not too concerned about possible low 30's for the next few days. the base is almost like a glacier! global warming they say hu.... LETS RIDE!!!

Unhappy um...halftime i guess?!?!?!?

well, mother nature is not going to cooperate very well this week/weekend whatsoever!!! our group has put on about 1000 miles in last 2 weeks down here. trails have been nothing short of interstate conditions. till now. clubs were out the 1st part of the week grooming what we have flat. however, the last 2 days have not been pretty. rain, freezing rain...n alot o rain predicted throught the rest of the weekend with temps approaching 40. next week back into the deep freeze. hopefully the base that is left will still be concrete-esk and we will get a good 6" snowfall to cover things back up again. time will tell. only mid season. alot can happen. time to get those sleds in and do some much needed wrenching n tlc. will post next time we get enough snow to ride...later

Hey Cat, have things improved in the SE at all? I'm looking for a place to go next weekend. I was out around Lino Lakes, Lindstrom, Scandia and Schafer yesterday and it varied from excellent to thinking "where is the ATV" as the snow was missing in some areas. They'll need more snow (and less sunshine) before it makes sense to head that way again.
